How far from shore do you ice fish?
How deep do you put your presentation?
*example 8 feet in 15' of water. _________________ Oh man... you got Onzo'd! |

Depends on the species and lake. Some lakes 100 feet from shore could be only 8fow on others it could be 40. On one of my lakes for crappie im about 30-50 feet from shore (middle of the lake) and in about 20 fow. I try to stay 1-5feet off bottom depending if rocks or weeds are present. On this lake its a few big boulders with muddy bottom so i bring my jig up 3-4 feet so the fish suspended off the boulders can see it. _________________ YouTube Channel: NorthEastFisherman |

I fish anywhere from 20 to 200 feet from shore. I like to spread my bait out. I always fish my shiners 18 to 24 inches from the bottom. |

The shore doesn't really matter. Some lakes will drop off quickly. I have been 5 feet from shore or as far away as I can get. (The Middle of the lake)
I fish 2 feet off the bottom almost always. Right under the ice for trout. |

i also try to fish right under the ice for trout and salmon. In 25 to 30 feet of water i'll go down between 8 and 15 feet for everything else trying to target some sort of structure. _________________ Oh man... you got Onzo'd! |

Do you know the structure is there? Fish will be on the bottom even that deep, especially if there isn't any structure. |

Yep, what he said-
generally set the tip-ups a foot or two off the bottom, jig under the ice if i'm looking for trout or salmon, or a foot or two off the bottom if i'm looking for perch, pickerel, bass, etc. |
