A local Bridgeporter and I hit a small pond in Wilton he knows about. Got there around 12:30pm and stayed for about 90 minutes.
We were only able to drill 3 holes for jigging because of the guy's hand auger having rusty old blades after not using it for 2 years.
I stuck with a pearl Rapala Jigging Shad Rap WSR-3 while the guy stuck with a small Swedish Pimple rigged with spikes.
I jigged up 4 perch up to 9" and lost what felt like a perch. All 4 were keepers. Also had a few bluegill pecks at it. Fellow Bridgeporter jigged up 6 bluegills and 1 tiny largemouth. He had many taps by bluegills. 5 of the bluegills were keeper bulls up to 8 1/2".
I've been to that pond with him once before back in 2011 and you usually get good action there. Today for some reason the bluegills were being more curious and secure than the way they'd usually be.
