Made an ice check on the old Railroad Pond (Kensington road/Main street) today and found some questionable ice. white ice mixed with water on top of fairly thin black ice ... thick brittle ice around the edges ... going to wait another day or two before i drill any holes.

My friend actually lives on railroad pond and I fished it for about a half hour before we had that big warm up. I only drilled one hole to fish right before it got dark and I ended up with two sunfish, a perch and surprisingly a golden shiner that was about 9 inches long. That place is an exciting place to fish. It can be slow then all of a sudden you cant rebait tipups fast enough

it is much more exciting through the ice than any other time of year! The largest bass i have pulled through the ice came out of there, and yes i agree some days are just running from rig to rig.

I live few roads from there, but checking through Google maps, and driving next to it, I don't see how do you get to it, as its all residential houses around it with no public access. Do you live next to it?
