Hi,
Horray ! -> Well we're finally getting some cold actually freezing Wx that will make good reliable ice !
That's the PRO !
The CONS are:
Too cold -> Temps in the 20's, Teens, or single digits.
Ice freezes up fast on rod guides, holes re-freeze super fast, and fighting freezing wind chill factor.
OK ! Yes -> I'm getting older (64) -> so maybe I'm getting wiser or more of a wussy 
To me ice fishing should be relatively Fun ! -> Not Work .... trying to fight frigid temps and especially the damn wind is not what I call fun !
Wish I had a nice heated Shanty as in "Grumpy Old Men" !  
That and a supply of "Polish Blackberry Brandy - 5 Star Rum - Thermos of hot coffee/chocolate/soup !
When I go ice fishing -> Like to have a few things to make it more comfortable !
Did I mention enough bait for a minimum of 4-5 hours ! 
Again -> Glad for the colder temps making more reliable ice !

We drink the same stuff out on the ice. It is called jezynowka. yez-nuv-ka, i think it is pronounced. good stuff to warm the belly
