So I'm planning to head to Bantam on Tuesday and I've never been. Any advice would be great( ice conditions/ fun spots to fish). I'm planning on using dead bait and big shiners. How busy does this place get mid week? thanks for the help

Im heading there tomorrow ill post so you can get a gist of the place. I remember two years ago that place had eskimo shantys set up every 100 feet. It was a hot spot. Im guessing its not too busy during the weekdays.

Bantam is OVER Fished badly. Everyone sets up off of 209 in front of the house with the bleachers in the front. I'm telling you because it doesn't matter and people have made the bite slow there because of over-fishing. I was at Bantam this weekend and was over 100 people there. bite was real slow. Out of the 10 groups I saw only a handful of small pike taken out, and also a ton of garbage on the ice. Sometimes the worst thing about fishing is the people.

Thanks for the news.Boy things change. Just when you think you have heard it all,the world just is disappointing.
Thank you for the feedback.I will let you guys know how i make out and conditions at waramaug. I promote pick up garbage even if its not yours.
Beardsley park is a prime example.

Bantam does get overfished but I was out on the south cove sunday. The action was slow. I had good luck the weekend before getting six pike between two of us.

There must have been 30 people in the south bay alone when I drove by, and no one was moving for flags. There are still plenty of pike in Bantam, you just have to stay till almost dark to usually get a shot at one. Also the lake seems less weedy in the summer time, which always seems to correspond with fewer and smaller largemouths. I had some nice smallies chasing a spinnerbait last spring, but nothing would really chomp down.

IT WAS HORRIBLE TODAY!!! I talked to lowaccord through pm when i was on there and he said its mostly cause of the low pressure. So id definitaly check the pressure before you go. It'd save you the trip and you wont end up with NOTHING.

Pike are very temperamental like that. I seem to have best luck throw open water when the weather is overcast day with no sun or windy/slight rain.
