Hi,

Right now Colebrook is very dangerous Exclamation

If you go -> CHECK the ice -> They've been drawing down Colebrook to keep Hogback full which controls the flow in the Farmington River !

NOTE: .... Hogback can be "even more dangerous" because water can be removed from under the ice which it needs to float on.
You DO NOT want to be on ice that has no support under it Exclamation

Fishing winchester early tomorrow with my dad to scout out a place to bring a friend sunday who used to live here then moved to minnesota and now is back so he needs some good fish. Were gonna try to find a good pike/bass spot on there. After checking the maps i think i found a good spot.

Went to West Branch (Hogsback) yesterday afternoon. Unless you brought a canoe, I wouldn't bother making the drive. The upper half of the lake is wide open and the lower is maybe an inch around the edges. Colebook itself had a few holes drilled in it, but it looked like the water came up since then and left the shore open for about 3 feet. Someone looked like they stuffed a foot through trying to get on, and it wasn't below freezing up there yesterday. Supposed to be 40 today, I'd go but my 10' ladder doesn't fit in my sled. I never catch anything in Colebook anyway.

Greenglow Bob was the master for smelt at Colebrook. He was a friend of mine and we had good times on the ice. Your post made me think of him

Hey, thanks for the report on West Branch Reservoir, androux. I had been thinking about driving up there to check it out.
