we were all set to go to housy this morning but last night got a call from a old friend who wanted to stream fish we said the naugy! - but decided to head up to riverton! it was just beautiful up three this morning they had some fresh light snow and the farmington was clear and COLD! - we started with worms and some spinners and didn't get any thing! - hit the general store for lunch and so a flyer for a tackle shop in town we had not been to! a small place that head everything you needed for the farmington! INCLUDING some super gigantic mealy worms that were suggested and they did the trick! was nice to be up there again have always loved the place and have spent many an opening day at the hitchcock pool! |

LOL - NO PICS - as for size who the hell knows - i got 4 nice ones and lost a bigger fish - i was out in the water and IT WAS COLD wanted to get the fish off the hook and back in the water asap! - browns and a rainbow - my 60+ years of fishing clearly told me they were keepers if that was what i wanted to do!
it was a great day - i love the part of the farmington thats on river road! |

if you are going up this week-end and feel like taking a little hike down the hill!? - i used to fish up at the dam at the out flow - mt eno road - during the regular season the gate (before the dam) is open and you could drive down to the river - the gate was closed this past week-end and we OLD FOLKS did not want to hike down the road (LOL) - but it is usually very productive
if you know the area in riverton - go accross the bridge and take a left about a mile up is river road - about a 1/2 mile up on the left there are two spots to pull off the road - (you will see tire tracks - the first spot is a real HONEY!
SUPER BIG MEALY WORMS were the ticket - i used to buy them at a pet store!!!
good luck! - keep me posted! |
