Hi,
Today (3:30 PM) .... I heard on the wind here in the NW hills of Connecticut =

Ah! ..... The annual seasonal call of the first hard water walkers on thin ice
Belive me -> I actually heard and saw this guy do this, on a small local pond today, after his buddy, from shore, asked how thick the ice was ? .... ( OMG! 2-3 inches of mixed black and white ice was the reply) !
Would be funny if it wasn't for the fact that the guy broke thru the ice 3-4 ft. from shore in very shallow water !
Yeah ! It's cold guys -> But yesterdays insulating snow and todays wind didn't help to form much ice -> Lot of open water gaps still showing !
Next 2-3 days of good cold Wx and light winds should have us at or over the 4 inch minimum "Reliable Ice" mark.
