Hi,
Well it looks like we're in for a nice stretch of cold weather.
I'm looking forward to doing some ice fishing !
BUT I've been reading where some guys are getting over anxious to get on ice !
SAFETY FIRST !
REMEMBER ! -> Ice does not form uniformly over any body of water.
Make sure you have all your safety gear on or with you and check the ice thickness every couple of feet !
We've had too many tragedys recently -> Let's NOT have any on the ice -> Give ice time to form thick enough !
"NOT worth risking your life on thin ice to catch a fish !"

Never been ice fishing, but I wade in upstate NY during the winter. Water temp is usually just below freezing, and air temp sometimes single digits. Carry a dry bag with extra clothes in your vehicle. I've seen guys slip and go in, head back to their car only to realize they have nothing dry to wear. You'll look pretty ridiculous sitting in you vehicle in nothing but wet boxers. If you are quite a ways from your vehicle, you should have a heat source. I don't think your buddies are going to want to spoon with you to prevent hypothermia _________________ RNA - It's in my blood.
