If its a circle hook though then dont set the hook just pick it up so that they dont take it too far and gently pull. It will set itself. _________________ There's a fine line between fishing....

I very rarely keep any fish, so I just turn my barbs down. This makes almost every fish extremely easy to unhook. Yes, you might have a higher chance of losing a fish but, I have never really missed any fish like this. |

Matty, try switching to a size 6 and keep practicing setting the hook. You'll get to the point where you can do it reliably. Plus, the fish fight better that way. |
