Alot of nearby ponds that get to about 15 feet deep freeze over every night and some hold about 1-1 1/2in of skim ice during the day. All we need is a few days that stay about mid 30's when the suns in the sky and we will have fishable ice. Not too safe, but fishable ice for those craving to ice fish !!! _________________ YouTube Channel: NorthEastFisherman |

Temps is 1 thing but what about the possibility of precipitation, esp with this new storm system coming? |

Im thinking it will help actually. It will melt that final crappy ice we have made over these warmish days so we can start fresh. This wednesday looks like when the real ice will start forming and after that, the temperature stays mid 30's and below. _________________ YouTube Channel: NorthEastFisherman |

Whoa -> Whoa -> WHOA
I'm also looking forward to doing some ice fishing -> But you guys are "WAY" too anxious" !
1.) Ice does not form on any body of water uniformly "ANYWHERE" so using the term "Safe Ice" is totally false !
2.) Authorities recomend (plus their graphs) anything less then 4 inches is unreliable and never ever to be trusted !
3.) Never go ice fishing alone !
4.) Have "ALL" your safety gear with you !
Not following the above general rules is asking for yourself to become a .......
Lets all do this ice season as safely as possible
I really don't want to read about any more tragedies because of someone's over anxiousness and stupidity !

Thats why i said fishable, but not too safe. I know ice and what thickness it needs to be to hold me and the different types of ice so ill be fine. My dad always is with me so theres my partner! _________________ YouTube Channel: NorthEastFisherman |

NWS and TWC are talking about the possibility of another storm system with mild temps next week after Christmas.
Cold front will sweep through the area this Friday bringing overnight temps below freezing and daytime temps under 40.
But then next week the jet stream might take a jump to the north bringing mild temps and rain again. |
