I finally got back to fishing since the combination of 2 storm's and working double shifts everyday has made it difficult. Fished Thursday from about 4pm-5:30pm with another hour and a half of walking!
Over the last week I was able to throw a couple casts in the fresh and tried fishing the other day but neither for too long and neither with lots of success.
So yesterday I wanted to give it a solid go, but it wasn't easy. Just like the day before I was turned away at Short Beach and couldn't get near Penfield Reef, and yesterday I tried going to Seaside, but their too the entrances were blocked by police with flashing lights saying the beach was closed. With my options narrowing, I decide to park at my friends house near Penfield Beach and make the mile plus long trek from his house to the reef via walking on roads and walking along the beach. After finally getting their I threw everything. Poppers, swimmers, plastics, metals, jigs, and nothing after almost an hour, I keep walking out as the tide goes out and Im close to the lighthouse. Finally I try the other side again and finally I got a fish!

all caught with large plastic swim shads. All schoolies with lots of life to them.
It was was great to be back out-there that even catching these schoolies was fun, and worth the walk. Can't wait to get back out there and can't wait til these beaches re-open.
