Friday evening into early Saturday morning was a stay up overnight time for me because of how late I slept til on Friday. That meant head down to Fayerweather for the incoming tide morning bite.

High tide for Bridgeport was scheduled for 7:31am and got to the jetty around 6:45am Saturday.

Saw birds working a school and saw 3 breaks within casting distance but never had a single hit on the shad Shallow Shad Rap SSR-9.

The school and birds would occasionally get closer to me but then made their way over to the cannon area before the tide gave way. By the time I got over there things were dead.

Tried casting at the cannon and then Remington with no luck before heading back over to the jetty and then hitting the road around 10:30am.

Conditions were perfect for stripers because of the mostly cloudy skies, little sprinkles here and there, and humidity level. Winds were 5 to 10 mph out of the NW. Water temps are warming back up a few degrees so I plan on heading back out there soon.

I got skunked last night, too. There was plenty of Stripers where I was fishing last night, but I was hunting bigger fish with eels and the small bass where I was fishing were about the size of the eels I was throwing Mad

The Reef? 2 foot long eels meaning 24" stripers?

No not the reef. And the eels I was using were about a foot long.
I went back to the same place as last night tonight and caught a single 14 inch schoolie with some rubber shad on a jig head.
Speaking of the reef, has anyone heard anything about any fish being caught from there lately? Does it look a little different because of Sandy?

I'll be heading back down to the jetty for the rest of the week hoping for the schoolie action. High tides are looking for for me. Bridgeport Harbor buoy got up to 54 degrees today and is currently reading 53.4 surface water temp. Get to start fishing with a 3 piece 7 foot ML saltwater traveler's rod with a Penn Pursuit 4000 on it.
