I had about half an hour of free time on Saturday, so of course I decided to fish. I live right on the lake so I decided to fish off my dock. I was using a swim bait that is bright green and orange. On my 3rd cast I got a bite. Next thing my drag is taking off. As I'm reeling in I realize that the fish is not surfacing, so my guess is it's a pickerel. The week prior I had my line snap with a big pickerel on right as I went to grab it, so this time I grabbed a net. I yelled for someone to get a camera and a measuring tape. It came in at just over 22 inches. Only got 4 pictures because I wanted to get it back in the water. I took 10 casts after, catching nothing and then had to call it quits. |

Awesome catch!
I love fishing for pickerel. They are very fun and give you a great fight for their size! More aggressive than their bigger cousins. |

I have to agree. A 22 inch chain pickerel fights better than a 22 inch northern pike. Nice fish! _________________ Don't forget to wear sunscreen and don't litter! |
