Hi,

I too love the tall ship's !

But I have to ask -> "What the Heck was it doing out there when they had a weeks worth of prior warning about "Sandy" Question

Why go South from Connecticut (last port of call) and try to sail around "Sandy" when the most prudent course of action would have been to go North to safer sheltered waters ?

As a professional Sea Captain, I am at a total loss to understand the Bounty's Master's decision to sail toward the teeth of an on coming storm system.

Also that vessel (Bounty) wasn't in the best of shape -> Almost sank at the pier in Fall River, Ma. (My home town) because of it's rotten leaking hull.
Needed pumps running day and night to keep it from sinking. Shocked

Damn vessel was over 50 years old, of wood, and was never maintained well because of the expense !
