Hit power plant with Megaman (Ari) sunday had a real good time . Crappy day of fishing launched at about 7-730 am air temps 50 ish skies cloudy light rain 15 mph winds gust 20 +water temp 56 deg.
We soon found ourselfs boxed in by a fishing tourney . There where about 10+ boats running in and out of salmon cove not 1 of them knows what no wake zone means . We hit the canal shortly after it looked like rt 84 at rush hr. fished all day got 1 bass 1-2 lb range . We didnt see the tourney guyz hook a single fish that gave us a days worth of chuckels knowing us in my little boat had out fished all those 20k bass boats with all the fancy bells and whistles.
Sun broke at about 2:30 day end a lot nicer than it started.
Ari thanks for the day out bud hope to fish with ya again real soon........ _________________ I Love to fish......Not a big fan of sitting in the boat alone ....the Conversation and the company make it perfect

looks like your tourney buddies stirred up the mix for ya. This is tragic considering the observation you have made and passed on about the motors of any kind killing the bite. I would guess they would fly in at full power on the main motor and then cruise around on the trawler getting nothing and then blast back off at max power. Next time let me know an you can borrow the #18 rapala to throw in there general direction. That should slow them down a bit!!!!!! You might think that they might learn a thing or two by watching the locals or asking questions. |

BOB thanks for great trip on the river...great experience...800 bucks for trophy pike...RIGHTTTT... ....we will do it again....with live bait
Man it was hilarious watching all these Geezers in their 20k dollar boats try to catch Dinks and fight for 1500 bucks = peanuts....Let alone watching one of these expensive plastic boxes stall dead before weigh in......If I offended someone here..thank GOD i did..
We did see some River Monsters flying out of the water...i agree with Angry John..the trolling motor spooked em all to the bottom..they WOULD NOT hit artificials after that....as good as fishing in my bathtub... _________________ Success Favors the Brave.......... |

My favorite area to fish in the late fall, UNLESS you get stuck on a tourny day. A lot of the same types that show up on the Salmon (NY) decked head to toe in Orvis, yet can't land a steelie to save their lives. I like shitty days midweek when I can get out straight from school or have a day off. Then the area is all mine. _________________ RNA - It's in my blood.

Not that I agree with people in big boats blasting by someone else fishing but just for the record, the nuke plant and salmon river are not official no wake zones. It's too bad that someone made you feel squeezed. I wasn't there and don't know what club it was but thats not right. They probably should have just gone past you like I do with the trolling motor. Then after they pass you, turn on their big motor.
However I would strongly suggest never throwing a lure at someones $60,000 boat. I know a few guys that if you did that to them they probably wouldn't respond to well and it wouldn't be worth it to you. Remember you never know who you're dealing with.
It is a very popular place with no "hidden or secret" spots so when you're there you have to realize that you're going to be sharing it. I've seen 15 boats in there at one time and everyone respected each other. Just realize that if someone wants to go around you in there and say fish further in, they have the right to do so. Nobody has the right to claim the entire canal.
Best bet is to just politely ask the guys to slow down. _________________

True the area from just outside the canal entrance up to the end isnt a no wake zone ...but the area from 100yds down stream from there till just past the salmon river launch is ...and they never should of been whipping past the launch at full trottle.....even though it was a little crowed for me in the canal they have as much right to fish it as I do and there welcome to join me any time _________________ I Love to fish......Not a big fan of sitting in the boat alone ....the Conversation and the company make it perfect |

Gotta agree with Justin on this one, not all bass boat guys are rude, just some. Throwing a crankbait at a bass boat is not the answer, I'd just turn and run your ass over, no offense,I'm not a violent person, but I believe in keeping what I work hard for. If I had a dollar for every idiot that pissed me off on Beseck this year, I'd have a new boat . Even though I live there and have all the time in the world(around work anyways), people being up your butt for no reason still sucks. It's just better to move on, and let it go. |

Honestly i would just smile....and do nothing else.....many of those boats are very expensive..i agree...respect the sport..respect other anglers property..I agree 110%..and i do see myself buying a nice boat very soon ....
I think angry johns comment was due to frustration..i dont think any of us would be stupid enough to throw lures at other boats...as mentioned you dont know who you are dealing with..
What does get frustrating is when there is a bass tournament for a WHOPPING $1,500 (my monthly rent), held on a cold and crappy October morning(Bass Season is essentially over) in New England and there are like 30 boats in this tiny cove trying to catch dinks...equivalent to fishing in the parking lot. it will make anyone upset....we are just venting.....thats all... _________________ Success Favors the Brave.......... |

Hey, I'm not done fishing for bass, yet, this year. Not even close. _________________ Don't forget to wear sunscreen and don't litter! |

I'm glad you understand! And when you get that new boat you should come to one of our two day tournaments on the river. If you win, it will pay your rent for 6 months! And even second will cover it for a few. Bass fishing surly isn't over in October. I'm a frog man but October and November is my favorite time of year on the River. Oh and one more thing. That 9.3lb river record largemouth I caught this year is still swimming in the Nuke plant..... _________________
