well, for me anyhows, it was a good day. i was packed to go to the coast this morning but i had to change the oil in the wife's car first. well, one thing after another and it didn't happen and i nixed the coastal trip going to my local pond instead. after test swimming a bunch of plugs i hadn't used ever, i switched to my small rod and wacky worm and got to work. nothing happening in my usual spot; nothing happening for weeks/months in that spot, as a matter of fact. i went around to the other side of the pond and poked a few spots with no hits. finally, i sat on the pond's outlet to the river and pitched the worm and proceeded to land 8-9 LMB, a few smallies, some fat bluegill (for this pond), and a couple of crappie. they were all stacked in a small section of the pond and depending on the lure i used (Zoom worm, black wooly bugger weightless under a small bobber, or white curly grub on jig head) i could weed through the fish. they were hungry today! i don't get out and fish as often as i'd like to so when i miss a trip to the coast, i get bummed. i'm glad i went to the pond, though. i didn't catch anything monsterous, but it was good to practice pitching lures and picking off the fish. and here i thought all the fish had flown south for the winter...pfft!

I'm surprised you even make it to the spots. From what i remember, you are usually driving off a cliff or something. You must have learned how to drive.
