Hey we can't tell you guys everything! You'd all be out there tossing texas rigging zoom 6" worms in watermellon! Geez! Laughing

Nice for the kid. Set the bar high for future fishing though! ; )

He's already dreaming about catching the 10 pounder we saw down there. Stay tuned! Wink

Seriously, for me it's about loving every aspect of it. The hunt, the thrill of hooking up, the beautiful things you see out there, the crazy shit that happens that you can share with friends that love the same thing. The quiet evening with a buddy, or my kid just talking about life. Not ever knowing enough after doing it for most of my life. It just keeps me coming back for more. Plus fish are very accessible and tasty. You can put two people together, one with a lifetime of skill, and one with a new love for fishing and they will bond immediately over fishing. It's just too much fun!!

Very well said, We're out there to enjoy the day together. Have great chat's and enjoy whatever comes our way. Catching fish is the goal, But not the only thing we're there for. We keep an eye on nature. The only thing we try hard to avoid is the skunk. So as long as we each catch something that swims its all good.

I am gonna add fishing is like the lottery. Every cast is a ticket. The one that hits the sucker on the head and ticks him/her off might be the winning one. Also that going to your confidence bait definitely factors in. Maybe we need to start a thread on what are the keys to a good day on the water? Cool

If hoppy caught a tank with his hot pink combo, I bet we'd all would be buying them! Looks rather stylish too! Very Happy

Congrats to the boy for that great bass. With the length and girth you have given. It calculates at almost 71/2 lbs. A real beauty

Thanks,

We have been using Northeast Taxidermy in Middletown. Their work is outstanding. But they are pretty booked and its usually a good wait for the mounts.

My son got a letter today, Seems he won another award and he has been invited to the Connecticut Trophy Fish Awards Ceremony. They didn't say exactly what award he has won. But I bet its the largest LMB by a youth in 2012.

This is just way too cool! I am so proud on my little fishing buddy! He's excited too! Razz
