Mashapaug holds some big fish, there is not doubt about that.... The lake is said to have Walleye. They can hoover up the population of smaller fish.

I guess I'm starting to wonder if the place has lower numbers of fish, but the ones that are there are larger fish....

Chris

I'd love to get back up there. It's a beautiful spot. My problem is I have to teach myself how to fish deep. I know there are tons of bass, I saw them. Only problem is they were all about 0" to 2" long Laughing I'm guessing the big ones were deeper than I was fishing that day.

kinda late on this but i fish mash ALOT...

Drop shot. gets em everytime.

And if ya fish way way towards the back put your boat in 10 ft. and fish into hte 20 -25 ft range... nice ones layin in there... I remember one day i had out there this year. caught 4 4 lb fish and a handfull of the average mash bass, all day long all on grn pump jig... Not a busy day but a GREAT DAY! I usally end up with atleast 2 larger then the average mash bass... Great place.. Can get VERY VERY frustrating.. Deffinetly a place for a fisherman not somewhere for some1 who just fishes if ya know what i mean. Keep at the deep water fish... it pays off specially there!!!!
