Oh brother, those are the best times when they draw water. If you are ever out and that happens again, throw a crank bait or rattle trap in a crawfish pattern. When the water recedes the crawfish have to move wtith the water too, meaning there is a mass migration away from the bank. This happened one of the first times I fished Lilli and one of the best days ever on CT waters.
Great effort. |

Bullshit.
Ive been eyeing your posts on here for a while. It took 5lbs to win a 10boat club t there Saturday and I won my club t there sunday with 6 11. There were 4 other fish caught in my club t..... spread out through 8 fisherman.
I worked extremely hard to find my fish including a keeper-less 6 hrs on Friday.
Im just sayin- from now in- Pics or it didnt happen. I mean with all the 15lb bags you get there you should fish the FED and the TBF just for the lillinoah t's. Your talking a GUARANTEED $2000+ a year for two tournaments. |

the funny thing is that I WAS told zoar was a tough fish spot! soo i have stayed way
but - i check this web site every friday! http://www.ct.gov/dep/cwp/view.asp?A=2696&Q=322752 and LOL zoar is always mentioned! - i know there are some BIG FISH in lilli! my son and i have caught them! - but it sure has gotten tough! - i always catch some fish and saturday the cove above the bridge (where the boats are docked and there is that little beach) did produce a nice one around 5 lbs! BUT as you posted - it was a day of hard work for sure! -- now that it's getting to be cooler i will concentrate more on the pike! - or for that matter what ever i can catch!
on Saturday certainly was nice to NOT have all the crazy boat traffic and nuts OFF the water! - the fishermen are alway GOOD- but the others WELL YOU KNOW the DRILL!
what just stinks the fact that lilli has some assume looking spots! THAT ANYWHERE else would hold fish! - go figure! |

A correction i never - ever got any 15 lb bags there - the best we ever did was fish all day back in may and caught nothing but small ones and the BY LUCK after 7 hours - my son threw a popper and in 2 cast got 2 fish that were around 6lbs each - BUT that was the end of it till saturday when i got that good one! - AND i live 10 mins away and fish Lilli at least 2 time a week! WHEN I SAY "a couple of decent fish that is what i mean DECENT nothing to brag about! - and as far as pics go I HAVE BEEN FISHING for OVER 50 years I DON'T need to post pics for my ego or to prove anything! -- I JUST LOVE TO FISH! |

I am an outdoorsman. I love being outside in nature, and I especially love fishing. I can spend entire days outside, out on the lake/river/saltwater or a pond or stream, with just a buddy or my son and a fishing pole to keep me occupied. Many of my fondest memories are related to fishing, and most of these I share with my closest friends and NOW my son. Fishing is more than just an activity for me, it's a way I can escape from the stresses and pressures of the “real world”, to just relax and enjoy life. I hear a lot of people complain that fishing is no fun unless the fish are biting, but I have a different perspective. I simply cherish the opportunity to get away for awhile, to admire God's creation, and to have time to myself. Catching fish is just a bonus.
The younger guys out there will carry-out THE LOVE of the sport we older guys have! A GREAT THING TO SEE! especially in these times we live in! -- I am just not sure I enjoy the pissin contest!

Well put revolkers. I started posting online because I like to share info and experience, and am most proud of the fact that I've introduced my kids to the sport, and I've gotten a few friend back out on the water who had not fished since they were kids. I couldn't tell you exactly what any of my PBs are ( if you saw my post in "River Reports" you would also know that my one scale is at the bottom of the old outflow), but I tend to consider them not by fish size, but what it took to catch them. That's just my approach. Key is, make sure you take the time to ENJOY being outdoors, wetting a line, and hopefully, but not always, catching some fish. Looking forward to meeting some of you in person on the 21st, and will be fishing the Ct River much more often in the coming weeks and month. If you see a 14 ft. Aluminum with Gemma Rose down the side, stop by and say hello! _________________ RNA - It's in my blood.

Well! I guess if you "REALLY" need a picture this will have to suffice.
Two of 9 (well above the 15lb bag total) (both fish more than your winning day total) my son and I caught this morning launching outa Pond Brook Cove. Yes! Thats me standing on land. Got that one while I was waiting for my son to put the boat in the water (by the way launching is getting a bit difficult.)
I don't have the patience to photo every fish I catch but your more than welcome to tag along and watch if you really need visual conformation. You might just learn something.
As for the report! Top water Spooks worked well while the skies were overcast. Had to fish small indentation in the shore (Shepaug Bay and smaller) Once the sun came out Swim baits off the bottom in 15/20 feet of water did the trick. Upon returning to Pondbrook at noon a KVD Crank Bait hooked a 5/6 pound pike. We were gonna weigh it and photo it but that fish made us work to retrieve the lure. Some dandy little teeth on it. _________________ Don't hold your farts in! They travel up your spine to your brain and thats where shitty ideas come from.
