Me and my boys took our annual fishing trip on Lake Champlain this year, and aside from one of our days being cancelled due to wind, it was a trip for the record books. 3 of us on day one, and 2 of us on day 3, 70 fish total in the boat with some great pike!! If you want to do this trip, like so many members have already said, Capt. Mickey Maynard of Lake Champlain Angler Charters is the guy!
Day one was 25 mph winds and the Capt seemed reluctant, but we turned it on hard boating 38 fish on the day.

Me and Steve on the double:

LOL.....
Day 2= Mother nature wins with 35mph winds!
Day 3 5-10mph variable winds, 32 fish:

And yes, there was a Drunk 1:
Awesome lake, awesome time!!! |

Most certainly....and with the rental cabin on the lake costing around the same as a hotel room for the night, we stayed in style. Full kitchen and a grill on the back porch where I could grill steaks and stare across the lake at the Adirondacks. Perfect! |

Very nice! Looks like it was an awesome trip. Lake Champlain is definitely on my "places to fish" list. Based on your report, I'll certainly look into Capt. Maynard. I'm pretty sure I spoke with him last spring at the Springfield Hunting and Fishing Expo. Thanks for the report! _________________ RNA - It's in my blood.

Nice job, Drunk 3! Yeap, Captain Mick's the best. I love fishing for northern pike on Lake Champain. _________________ Don't forget to wear sunscreen and don't litter! |
