Got a call friday From Mep21 (Mark) for heading out this weekend, first thoughts was for heading back to the river for the pike bite but after checking weather and dicussing the boat trafic issues Stillwater in Torrington became the target.
We hooked up at 4:30 after loading up and a little look to the skys we headed out, a manditory stop at D&D for coffee we rolled onto the ramp just as the skys started to pink up.
Weather looked good air temps where brisk 55+deg. with a lite breeze fog swirled around in big collums and thanks to Peco for the loan my handy dandy fish finder told me water temp where 68 deg.
Mark boated the first fish on a baby brush hog I beleave while I tryed frogs and a wacky senko
We moved north hitting the weedlines and laydowns top water action was dead and so was the buzzbaits and senkos but brush hogs would pull 1 now and then
About now I got my first good fish about 2-3 lb ,sadly none of pics of my fish for the day got saved to the phone hopefuly Mark took some with his.
We rolled around the pond pitching and casting at everything. The weather man was spot on as usual the light 5-7 mph predicted winds turn out to be 10-15+ with gust so strong the 10lb anchor couldnt even hold us. The cooler temp and strong winds made fishing tough but we managed a few here and there.
By now time was getting short and we found ourselfs fishing humps out in the middle (shoreline was holdng lots of smalls) we still needed a big'un I tied a spinner back on hopeing the warm skys and wind might of turned the bite on a little ....sure enough I bang a decent bass (no photo) .Marks brush hog bite had died a while back he followed the spinnerbait idea and got 1 for himself
Well it was cut off time 4:00 good bunch of fish little chilly lots of wind another GREAT DAY!!!
Thanks for the day out Mark your allways welcome to warm the front seat. _________________ I Love to fish......Not a big fan of sitting in the boat alone ....the Conversation and the company make it perfect
