Hi BT,

Yeah! I seriously belive that there is so much feed in Winchester Lake that that is why it's such a stingy lake to fish.

The big boys/girls don't have to work too hard to get a full belly! Laughing

I've never caught a skinny bass out of there or pike so there's got to be a good food source in there could be crawfish.

My best largemouth bass out of Winchester was a 4-1/4 pounder that hit a soft plastic craw lure (i.e., a Rage Tail Space Monkey, I think) on a weighted hook and dragged on the bottom.

I had to register just so I could talk about this lake. It's easily my favorite place to fish (only 10 minutes from my house so what's not to like) even with all the lines I've broke on those stumps. I think I went pretty much every weekend this summer except for maybe 2-3 times.

There are definitely big bass in there. Just a few weeks ago I hooked into one around the size that bdiggy posted. When it broke the water my friend nearly had a heart attack. Unfortunately it spit my worm out when it jumped. The same day I had one on my line that started making my pole go crazy. My friend was telling me I was hooked on a stump (it sure felt like a stump) but I showed him the tip of the rod moving. The drag started going and then my line broke. 12 lb test, must have been a big fish. Generally though, I'll end up with about a 1.5 lbr most of the times I go.

I pretty much exclusively fish drop shotted senkos because I'm too afraid to try anything else.

I've also been seeing those jellyfish all over the place. I tried to look up some information on them to see if they affect the fish in any way but didn't find much information.

My friends and I are making this the last weekend we go bass fishing and plan on going to Winchester once or twice. Hopefully they're biting.

Welcome aboard capcap. If you're there on Sunday, I'll be pedaling around in my Hobie Pro Angler.

Those jellyfish were all over the place in Lake McDonough last Wednesday. I haven't read anything that says they're harmful in any way.
