Went to Silver Lake this evening for a few hours. It was my first time fishing there. Wind was blowing pretty hard, but I managed to catch 4 bass and a bullhead and my buddy managed 3 bass. Nothing really picture worthy, but nice to avoid a skunk on a new lake. It was really odd but I caught the bullhead on a wacky rigged senko. Never had that happen before.

Nice job on Silver Joe. That place can be tough for boat control when the wind is blowing as there is very little places to hide. What were you using? _________________ Eat, Sleep, Fish......I Love my SKEETER ZX225!!!

The wind was blowing right out of the south so we basically headed to the south end and let the wind blow us back. I spent more time trying steering the trolling motor than fishing. I was using a wacky rigged watermelon senko and pumpkinseed sekno (which was a little difficult in the wind). I tried a pop-r when we were on points that weren't so windy, but no luck. I don't have a depth finder so it was tough to tell how deep the water was. |

How are the weeds there haven't been there since early spring.
Nice report, that place is a wind tunnel. _________________ Bite on my line. |

It was the first time I ever fished there, so I'm not sure how it usually is, but there were a fair bit of weeds around the lake. There were a lot of nice lily pads and we did pretty good dropping senkos on the edge of the pads.
At the south end of the lake there were a lot of weeds.
