Tuesday I headed back over to the area of the Pequonnock I caught the PB rock bass at. Got there around 5:30pm.

3 lures I stuck with were the glass minnow HJ-6, brown trout FLR-6, and perch FLR-6.

The HJ-6 didn't see much attention this time. It was the 2 Flat Raps that had fish going. Had a yellow perch take a swipe at the brown trout FLR-6. Bluegills and redbreasts were chasing the Flat Raps right on the tail hook while doing a steady retrieve. Caught 1 bluegills and 1 redbreast. The BG came on the perch FLR-6 and the RBS came on the brown trout FLR-6.

Later as I moved on downstream, I saw a man throwing a large buzzbait. Asked him how he was doing and he said he had just gotten there but has been into a topwater bass bite in recent evenings. Said he also caught a 5 pounder.

2 topwaters I played with for about 30 min were a chartreuse ghost X-Rap Popper XRP-7 and a Tiny Torpedo. Both lures, including the other fisherman's buzzbait, never saw and life.

Last stop around 7:30pm was Glenwood Park. It didn't smell as fishy as it has been lately and I hardly saw any breaks on the surface. White perch were the more active ones this time and the Flat Raps were the ones that had them going. Caught 3 dinky whites all on the brown trout FLR-6. Also caught a chubby 7" largemouth on the perch FLR-6. Other fish were a dinky 2" bluegills, 4" rock bass, 3" redbreast, and 3 stripers up to 8".

The Flat Rap bite died once it got darker out and then stripers turned on with the glass minnow HJ-6.

Hit the road around 8:15pm.

Only saw 2 herons there this time.

When I did electrosamping with the state, there was one body of water that had these abnormally large rock bass. I wish I remember the name. I would love to transplant a few of them into a new enviornment of hot oil and panko bread crumbs... Rolling Eyes Keep at it Mike!
