If you liked catching that pike, you should hit the CT River this fall. If we have a winter like the last one you can catch them from October/November right through April without having to stare at a little hole all day. _________________ RNA - It's in my blood.

Nice catch. Rumor has it that pike were illegally introduced into Beseck by an area resident years ago. He did a great job! |

Yeah, whoever put them in there thought they knew better than the DEP biologists who originally deemed the lake unfit for the reproduction of of Northern Pike and scrapped it from the original list of lakes they wanted to put pike in, like Bantam, Pachaug, winchester, mansfield, etc. But being that big and small pike keep being caught, I would say theres probably a good chance they are reproducing, and not just one guy constantly dumping more in there! |

That's true I've seen pics of different size pike coming out of there, so it's a very good possibility they're reproducing quite well. I'm dying to begin a new species to hunt for now. We're going to hit the pike spots sooner than later for sure, really cool looking fish, awesome colors. We're keeping the camera in the boat from now on, probably won't get another one, now that the cams in the boat I've met the guy the "supposedly" put the pike in Beseck. |
