I moved to ffld last summer but didn't get out on to penfield reef until recently. I have been out fishing a few times now, mostly at night with the out going and have yet to get a hit. My most recent trip was this past Sunday. Low tide was 8:10 and I fished from 6 to 8. I only saw one fish hit some bait, made a few casts with a small plug but nothing. A guy out there said there were fish around on saturday. I have been trying plugs, divers and plastics. I have talked to a few guys while out on the reef and they all tell me not to give up hope. Anyone have any tips or suggestions? |

Currently with warm water temps, it's just the smaller fish out there. Instead of using a heavier setup with those bigger plugs, throw a topwater or shallow plug in the 3 to 5 inch range.
Last time I was out I only got sea robins with 1 fluke in the mix. All came on a Rapala Clackin Minnow CNM-9. Bluefish have disappeared.
I'm always willing to help out cause I've been fishing there since I was 10 |

Went out last night @ 8:00, HT was 8:10. Hooked up on a few small blues (12 inches and smaller) using light weight gear and a small popper. Good fun. Thanks. |
