The CTR is known for carp fishing. So is the Housy and Naugy. Places such as Lake Zoar and Lake Lillinonah should hold carp, but lakes out your way I don't know of.

There are tons of spots near you on the river. Try the coves.

One of the largest bodies of water that hold some nationally recognized carp fishing is 5 mins away from you...

CT River. If you're inexperienced, start with the coves. I mean the state record was pulled outta the river, if im not mistaken

Thank you for the replies. I will try the CTR or the Wethersfield Cove. Dividend Pond is very close to me and I have caught multiple grass carp there.

We never carp fish from boats. Only from shore, so yes. It can be done from shore.

As far as grass carp in Dividend... Are you sure? I've fished there a few times and know people who do as well, and this is the first time i'm hearing about grass carp in there...

Yes I went just a few days ago and got a 6 pound grass carp at Dividend. Me and my neighbor have been fishing there for years and never caught a common carp there. There are also some decent sized bass and unfortunately, a bunch of sunfish.
