My buddy Sal and i went and played in the Housitonic in Naugatuck and Beaconfalls. We went to his spot first and caught a couple dozen between us, with one of his being the biggest of the day. Guestimated at one and half pounds.
We used wacky rigged senkos.
We tried some other areas and caught some fish, but nothing like the original spot. The river was pretty low and we walked some areas for a ways hitting small holes.
I really enjoyed the fishing and expect to get out there again soon!!! _________________ Thar aint NO fish in here !!!!!!!! |

Went again today with the wife and kids for a few hours. Kids played with crayfish and i used some for bait.
Wife caught a few on senko. I caught a bunch on the crayfish and decided to try a spiderjig. The spiderjig worked wonders dragging across the current! I must have landed 2 dozen dinks.
I did try a senko on the first few casts. But after the BIG mama grabbed it on the first cast, and i even watched it follow it in the currect and inhale it, she came off on the first jump, i kinda wanted to show her something else. Never went back to the senko.
Jen caught the bigest fish up in heavy current on a senko. I say a pound and half. _________________ Thar aint NO fish in here !!!!!!!! |
