I like the big willow and small Colorado blade combo on spinnerbaits. It's the best of both worlds, I think. A spinnerbait is a great lure on which to catch chain pickerel and northern pike, because they usually can't get their teeth on the line. I'd bet it was fun landing the pickerel. _________________ Don't forget to wear sunscreen and don't litter! |

Very nice, pickerel are a fun fish to go for. We love finding a good place loaded with them for a day of spinnerbait fishing. Not a big fan of willow blades at all, never caught a thing on one. But like they say "it's what you have confidence in". Good job out there. |

Nice catch. I've never pulled a pickeral out of the seymour res but i mainly fish #2. Do you know if #1 is affected by the movie filming? I can barely catch anything in #2 since they started last week. |

Where is the path to get to Reservoir 1; I was thinking about hitting one of the reservoirs today. Are all of them open for fishing? |

It's pretty easy to get to. From rt 8 you take exit 24 for rt 42 west. Cross the river, go through the stop sign, and then after a few miles the road turns left and if you go straight there's a dirt road. Right at the start is the entrance for #1 and #2, but they're all crudded up with some movie production right now. Further down the dirt road is the entrance for #3.
to get to #4 you stay on 42 at that curve and keep going straight til the road ends. Take a right (42 goes left) and about a mile up on the right is #4.
You can fish all of them. I'venever gotten anything that big out of 3 or 1, but i've gotten 3+ pounders out of 2 and 4. |
