Morning.

Got down to the pier around 1800, with high tide coming in around 2215, and it was packed. Managed to squeeze my way in, and watch a few pull in snappers (<6"), but that was it.

There were only 2 small schools of bunker about 150-200 yards out, towards the sound. A few of the guys managed to snag 2-3, but there was nothing chasing them. No bites on my (admittedly) limited selection of lures, but nobody else caught anything either. Better luck next time.

I see. That water is much more shallow than I thought, and temps are high. A toadfish was the only thing that I've pulled up, and even the snappers aren't around.

Took my kids out late morning today. Not even any porgies around. A few snappers flashing by here and there.

That's were I was Tuesday, as well as around to Kilim Point. Didn't get out 'til mid-day and didn't catch anything. The water temp is really high, so make it an early am or evening trip. I'm going to stick to the Niantic area for the rest of the summer.

Yes, you get a lot of kayak traffic heading up the river there, and along the shoreline. There are a couple of local tours that head that way as well.

Is a nice place to 'yak or run a small boat. You can also head up river until you hit the Rt.146 bridge, and tie up at the restaurant that has lobster rolls, dogs, etc.
