| Took out my cousins for some porgy and sea bass today at charles island. seabass were no bigger then the bluefish plugs in the tacklebox just about every single one of em. 3 to 8" or so. had some trouble finding porgies on the west side so we went to the south side and got some there. between 4 of us probably 100 or so fish. Mix of porgies and seabass. porgies not too big either. a few were legal size barely. they got bored of that so we got some porgies and headed out deep to a wreck and put them out but nothing going on at all. Headed back into the housy to try for fluke but only got 10 min or so of that before it downpoured. Headed back in at 3ish. Sucks theres not many bass/blues around for all the bait out there. Probably stick to freshwater till things pick up. |

Yeah, I just dont understand whats up with the blues this year! Last year this time I was killing big blues and lots of them. This year I still havent caught anything over about 4 lbs and only like 2 of them. I understand the stripers headed out deep due to warmer waters so fast but thats what blues like so what gives?

| I've been running into the same prob surf fishin in west haven and milford haven't seen much of blues a hole s..t load of searobins its time for a mass robin kill been using the tail for bait for years it works well |

Yeah, the tails are good bait. They're also good to eat. |

| What do you catch with that robin hood's tail? Went with my friend to Hammonassette yesterday and caught a 30" stripedbass low tide and two tiny blues. |

Think the Sea Robins have anything to do with increased water quality? I've seen a few things this year that I haven't seen in years. Went out to the beacon and Townsend's ledge 2 weeks ago and found monster porgies (~16"), and even caught a few small (~12") weakfish. Even saw a 3-4' sea turtle, which I've never seen this far in the sound. |

I've caught blues and stripers, used them after robins ate all my bunker in past and they don't seem to eat themselves. |

Think the Sea Robins have anything to do with increased water quality? I've seen a few things this year that I haven't seen in years. I've heard from guys around bait shops that they may be the cause of the low lobster count being caught they r eating lobster eggs. There has been a increase in robins and decrease in lobster. I don't no if its true or not but they r annoying as hell always seem to be out there taking bait and goin aft lures. |
