Well made it out on the lake for a couple hours last night. We ended up with 7 largies and 1 nice smallie around 3 pounds. Most of the largies were cookie cutter size with a couple 2-3 pounders. The smallie was nice to see, we'd only caught a couple small ones so far. It was a very nice, healthy damn fish for sure.
Black seems to the color there for sure. No camera in the boat, left it sitting on the counter, and was enjoying the lake too much to go back to the house to get it.
Will post pics next time.

I'm glad that you finally had time to fish! Now you have to find the monster northern pike that's in there. _________________ Don't forget to wear sunscreen and don't litter! |

Yes it was good to spend some time out there for sure. The next item is the pike. Hey Phil I've caught 3 white perch so far on my 1/2 ounce chat/wht spinnerbait. I got one the other night that was around 11-12". Didn't even know they were in there. I'd like to catch a few for a fish fry soon, just don't know what else to try using. x182dan, the weather is supposed to be ok for the most part, maybe I'll see you out there. Look forward to meeting some ctft peeps for sure. |

Try using some really big live baits in the dam area for the pike, in this heat they will be hanging in deep water, sometimes a heavy rain can help cool down the surface temps and get em' going, good luck- Dan |

I tried beseck for the first time on sunday. I didn't have much luck. I only landed a couple bass and didn't see much action for anyone on the lake. |

I wasn't out on Sunday, got a few real nice ones Saturday before the storm hit. Got one around 4 and a couple around 3, plus a few dinks and a few misses, so lot's of action on Saturday. I've heard it can be tough, but we seem to have it figured out now, we've never been skunked yet. Try any black soft plastic, it seems to do the trick for us anyways. |

You may have trouble finding the right size baits right now unless you know someone who has some? 7-8 inch golden pond shiners work incredibly well! |

Anyone know if catching local sun fish or yellow perch is good for pike? Like stated befor getting large shiners is difficult at this time! |
