Decided to tow the lil bass boat out to Burr this weekend and boy it it pay off...

Hit the water at around 9am and trolled in my ususal spots and we were catching the usual largies (1-3lb) after about an hour..Had to figure out what color senkos they were diggin. Switched it up a bit and were snagging pickerel on spinnerbaits for a little bit as well. Around 11:30 I was gettin hot and the GF was nagging, so I decided on a move.

I don't know how well you guys know Burr, but if you've ever been there later afternoon on any weekend you it know its packed and NOISY. So I ve never really spent much time fishing the banks by the pavilions and spillway cove. Well today it was a ghost town except for a kayak or 2. So I found a nice deadfall, and a nice shade line and plinked my pumkpin yama right between some weeds and the dfall. Line tighetned up, and I gently sweeped a nice hookset. Holy Cow! All I saw for the initial first minute or 2 was my line accumulating a ton of weeds and I was rapidly being pulled all over the place. I was a bit worried haha.. soo ill cut the the goods I nailed a lunker! My PB LMB ever! Beats the 4.5lb fron rainbow last month, I'm stoked! it made for a hell of a day, after the pics/weigh/release I went home happy...

Nice fish you got...... Burrs a great place use to be 1 of my most fished spots but ive shyed away just to busy lately I like it a little quieter dont forgot to hit the sunken stumps in the cove without the overhead wires there a fat girl in the 6+ lb range likes to sleep under them ive pulled her out a couple time in past few years . If you notice my avatar it might look a little familar to ya I took it from that spot 1 morning

I wish I were half as skinny as you, linesider21. The upside of my fat ass is that it probably hurts less than yours after eight hours of sitting in a boat. Wink
