Once the rain had stopped with a few lingering showers, I went to Bunnells Pond. Arrived at the cement wall around 4:45pm.
Lures I stuck with were the Clackin Crank CNC-53, bleeding pearl JSR-4, and yellow perch X-Rap Shad Shallow XRSH-6.
Worked all of my usual spots for this time of the year with those lures but only had an occasional pumpkinseed follow the CNC-53 and JSR-4.
Later I ran into a fisherman who was throwing a F-11. He said bass have been hitting it towards the evening. I saw it had a broken lip which means it wasn't swimming. Instead he was using it as a topwater.
I decided to play topwater with a shiner SSR-7 and bleeding pearl F-7. Had a few hits and swirls and lost a bass on the jump.
Saw bait cruising the shore and a few yards out from shore in the evening but no breaks or swirls.
Hit the road around 7:45pm. |
