I’ve been up that part of the French river several times in my kayak. The water in there is VERY low right now, at the moment it’s probably impossible to get much past the old mini golf course in anything but a kayak. Also, even when the water is higher there are a lot of hidden stumps/logs/rocks up that way which are very hard to see in moving water. I’ve thought about taking my little boat in there, but so far haven’t tried it. I’ve actually had more luck fishing the lower section south of the bridge rather than going way upstream. Lots of small bass in there around a pound or less, it can be fun though with light gear. _________________ PB's:

Still searching for some toothy critters big enough to be worth weighing... |
