phil, your quest for a ten pounder isnt an impossible feat for an avid angler, a buddy of mine got a 9 3/4 pounder in a pond in the hartford area! it can be done! Very Happy

try nose hooking a big golden pond shiner or bluegill and throwing it in like you would a lure, slowly retrieve it and let the shiner sit for a second in likely spots! BIG BASS ONLY! Wink

Hey, Dan. I'm not yet ready to start fishing with live bait in open water. Not that I have anything against it, but it's just not for me. At least not yet. Wink

I just picked up an eight inch Nils hand auger from Cabela's. I'll definitely be live-lining shiners under the ice this Winter.

when i saw the first picture you put up of the cove with the submerged trees i knew it would be a great place for bass and probably some pike, i might try that place in the spring when the bass are pre-spawn.

PECo,

Thanks for the message and link to your post on your avitar. Even though it's an old post, I really enoyed reading your fine post on your fishing trip to the cove and getting to learn about your PB and great catch. Thats one fat LMB! I've recently moved back to the States from the Philippines, maybe someday we can hook up and fish together. I'm in Bloomfield now. Again, great report and even a greater catch by you.

Ned.
