Just curious is anyone has had any luck there this year....Like I mentioned in an older post an old timer I work with told me there are some lunkers in there and told me I have to try it out... Just curious what the action has been like this season.

Thanks

If your talking about school house pond in northeast CT near the MA line then i can tell you there are some pigs in there, between me and my brother we've caught about 10 LMB over 4 lb and a few just over 5 lb in the past couple years. I do fish the place quite often tho, most of the time you catch 12''-14'' little guys but you normally catch a boat load of them so it's a good place to go if you just wanna catch some bass and there always is a chance of catching a lunker. We catch them on 1/8-1/4 0z jigs, senkos, and drop shot- finesse worms, i'm sure they'll bite other stuff too.

I may hit Schoolhouse this weekend too, I’m taking my little cousin out fishing so even a boat full of dinks will be fun for him. Hopefully we’ll be able to find some bigger ones, too.

I have my boat trailer all apart right now replacing the 2x4’s and carpet, and readjusting everything to fit the boat properly. Hopefully I will be done tonight, unless I run into ANOTHER snag. This turned out to be more difficult and time consuming than I originally thought it would be!

The south end is sometimes so loaded with bluegills that my girlfriend can catch them on every other cast using a trout magnet jig, under a small bobber!

ok sunday hit schoolhouse pond once more... I figured I will give this place one last shot before I cross it off the list! We went sunday am boat hit the water 4:45am, didnt catch our first fish until 7:30 using most rubber baits worms, crawdads and tubes...and I used a buzz bait for 1 hour or so also both bass we caught were under 1lb. We decided lets see what this place has there is one sure fire way to catch fish and we went and bought 2 dozen shiners and figured hey if we dont catch anything now this place is getting crossed off the list! We hit the water back again 9:00 am roughly... from 9-12 we caught 8 fish 5 bass 3 yellow perch, all fish were under 2 lbs so I officially am done with schoolhouse pond!

Damn sorry to hear it didn’t go well! I wound up fishing some spots on the French river this weekend (from shore obviously) in search of smallies. Caught a few, biggest was around 2 pounds… lots of fun on light gear in a current though! Dying to take my boat out, the trailer is finally finished… I’m going to try and talk my buddy into being my “guide” out on schoolhouse pond lol
