Decided to go back the Bunnells Pond hoping for a good day. Started off at the upper part of Beardsley Park along the calmer areas of the Pequonnock around 4pm.
There was a steady 10 to 15mph SW wind with occasional gusts around 20.
Didn't cover much territory up there except for 2 sections. Lures I played around with included perch Original Floater F-7, glass minnow Husky Jerk HJ-6, and shiner Shallow Shad Rap SSR-7. Had small sunnies follow the F-7 and HJ-6 in one spot and picked up weeds in the other.
Later I moved down to the old cement wall by Bunnells Pond facing north towards the Pequonnock. Lures I stuck with from there on were the JSR-4, CNC-53, and a yellow perch X-Rap Shad Shallow XRSH-6.
At the cement wall I had sunnies following the JSR-4 and XRSH-6.
I moved over to the point where the confluence between the Pequonnock and Bunnells is. Didn't have any luck there.
Checked out my crappie spot but it got too weedy so I moved over to the rocks.
While casting the Clackin Crank out there, I get a hit. Feel as if I'm dragging in some light weeds but feel a bit of shaking. Landed a keeper crappie around 8".
After no more luck at the rocks, I moved on to more spots along Bunnells Pond. No luck this time at the spot where I caught the pig but caught a keeper yellow with the CNC-53 at a spot right near there.
Last stop was the island. Couldn't cast out towards the dam because there was a couple enjoying the air there. Casted out towards the connector but had no luck.
Was feeling thirsty around 6:45pm so I headed over to Duchess to take a break.
