Got there around 8pm, had to park in the parking lot on the other side from the Dam. Walked the path, stopped at each bench to do some casts... I was excited to use my new Zoom Horny toads I bought... more on thatt later. No bites at the benches...made it over to spill way and used the horny toad again, on my 12lb set up....casted awesome but it seems like the lure is tough to penetrate from the hook... no hits but I am excited to try it at bigelow tomorrow over some lilly pads and grown out weeds.. anyway, I also used the fire tiger shallow shad rap... let me tell you, it was the 3/16 oz and it cast so awesome with my 6 pound test... I caught a bass near the spill way... maybe a pound or so... then went to the bench inbetween the the spillway and the cylindrical thing and caught a nice 2lber!!! My Kid was with me, (he doesn't like to fish, he only came cuz I'm teaching him to drive) and he was impressed with the tail dance on top of thewater. A good night and looking forward to tomorrow!! |

That's funny chud. I had my daughter out for dinner with me last night who has her permit. I always have my canoe on my truck, and we hit up Cedar in Chester afterwards. After several nice bass and being half way around, I explained to her that the next word that even sounded like bitchin about fishing would have her taking the drivers test in my canoe....not my truck. Only boated one more fish, but it is such a nice lake on a silent evening! _________________ Dave..... I can be a pain in the bass. |

he didn't bitch, he knows better! ha ha ha ha!!! We actually just talked, about things, life, work , etc... plus he knows I always stop at 7-11 afterwards and I buy him a slurpee or something. He just never got into fishing. |

Yeah...she really wasnt that bad. We have had so many times like that...just chewin the fat about life while I was fishing. If I'm on fish she'll grab a pole and have at it. She "doesnt like fishing", but loves to catch fish! I just got a new hummingbird portable for my canoe, so I was reluctant to leave the water on my first trip out with it. _________________ Dave..... Those Shallow Shad Raps are KILLERS chud! I've hit more PBs and pigs with the SSR than any other lure! It even plays a part in lighter action saltwater for me. |

I took a nice walk around Ris Rez the other day, but didnt see much action. Parking in the lot and walking clockwise around the res I managed to "almost" reel in a bass in the back corner on the new x rap pop - but the fish jumped and spit it out! was a good sight but woulda rather he allowed me to reel him in!
On an upnote it seems you CAN have motorless boats out on the water as per the sign up at the parking lot! woohoo! gotta float that place very soon on the pontoon |

I know ther is a sunken man made rock wall...on the woods side of the pond. A couple of years ago when we had the drought theRis dried up pretty shallow and I got a real good glimpse of what is "under"there as far as structure and such goes. I didn't know you could put any type of flotation on there..that would be a good pond to float around on. |
