Tried the deep weed flats this weekend and got a few takers(actually many) on a CR rig. I love the warm water season for the lunker hunting. Yeah, We still hit the shallows in the early morning, But head deep once the sun starts beating on us. My son won't let me say what lake(too much pressure already) or the full details on the CR rig. But here are a few pic's of the deep weed chunks we caught last Sunday. As the water warms more, The monsters should start hitting the deep weeds. We'll keep you posted!
And yes, We practice catch and release!

I recognize that place . It does indeed fish better in the hot sun. Nice catching!

Good fishin guys! Now's when it gets interesting. The targets are getting harder to hit. PM topwater has been outstanding too. I dont do morning!!
