Decided to try my luck on the river for the first time in quite a while...
I launched from Salmon River at around 9AM as it was coming up on low tide....I headed up into the cove and spent a couple of hours with nothing to show except 1 small pike on a shakey worm! (There was a bass tourney so I think most of the cove had been worked over pretty good by the time I got there.)
Next I headed out to the main river and concentrated on some weedlines in the no wake zones. (It's amazing what some of those bigger boats consider to be no wake!! Rolling Eyes Confused Rolling Eyes ) Anyway,..I ended up with nothing on the shakey worm, nothing on a horny toad and 2 bass a jig. The bass were decent,..one 3-lber and one 2-lber.
I also had one other bass in that same size range come off on a jump and in the very clear water, I could see a few pike following my jig without biting (including one really big one!! Shocked )!
