Hi there fluke fans...

Last time I was out for fluke & trying out a new reel that was lined with what I think is "Magibraid"? it's pinkish with red & blue spots on it. Now I was catching my share of fluke but others were catching more using mono.
Does anyone know if fluke may be line shy?

I always use a flouro leader but with blues I use a steel leader.

JC,

I use PP both green and red when fluking but my rigs are 40lb mono. Fluke are aggressive as hell and I don't think they are line shy at all.

Rig color sensitivity is probable, action/technique is more likely.

Keep at it and mix up your technique a bit.

So far this year I've landed 3 fluke and had a few others on and follow.

2 that I landed were with green mono. My recent one was with red Cajun Line mono.

Jimi,
I have to agree with ripline. I've been an avid Fluke fisherman for many years. I've seen no proof that Fluke are line shy. They are just to aggressive by nature to take notice of line. I believe it's more about bait or lures being offered. Next time, try to notice whice baits or lures, those who are catching more that you are using. I bet you will then notice the difference. Also technique can make a big difference. Best of Luck....

I aggree with the above two posters that fluke are very aggressive fish and there's nothing in my experience would indicate they are line shy.
