Fishing buddy and I hit the Reef starting around 10am til 12pm. High tide for Bridgeport was schedule for 3:29pm.
I stuck with that Flat Rap while buddy played around with 1 Kastmaster, 1 Deadly Dick, 2 topwaters, 1 plug, and a Storm Shad.
For the whole time we were out there, I caught over 10 sea robins and 1 short 10-12" fluke. Buddy got 5 sea robins which most came on the Storm Shad.
2 things I got to witness with those arh arh fish today were another 1 or 2 of them following the fish I had on all the way to my legs. The other was I'd set the hook and lose it within a few seconds, but then another one takes over.
As we worked our way in, I started smelling those silversides and/or sand eels. That's where I caught 3 within 5 casts.
Later after getting home I worked areas of Seaside Park from about 1:45pm til 5:45pm. 3 sea robins on the SSR-9 and lost 2 arh arh fish. 1 chunker caught a taylor while another one lost one. Everything else with everybody was sea robins! |
