Since my trip to bigelow and I had no topless topwater baits I wanted to see if they made frogs or such for lighter line.. I use mostly 6lb mono. I bought a Strike King Grass Frog 3/16 oz and a small scum frog. I also bought another rapala shad rap SSR-5 the original color I guess. I was looking for another perch color or firetiger but they were having a sale and most of the shelves were empty.

it's 4:47pm and another thunder storm is passing through.. hoping it's all said and done by 730 or so so I can do a little late evening fishing trip over at the Ris.

The "original" color on Shallow Shad Raps and other Rapalas is your usual silver/black called Silver. A number of original colors on the Shad Rap lineup also include Perch, Shad, Baby Bass, Firetiger, Blue, and Crawdad.

Perch and Shad are always good to me.

I have noticed my local Dicks Sporting Goods store hasn't had any Rapalas all season unless they sold out of them the one week I did not go in there. Has anyone else noticed the same. Also I can find any F-7 gold ones anywhere, but online.

Other than online, local tackle shops, Dick's, and Sports Authority have good Rapala lineups.

I always get my best deals by bidding on Ebay. Just gotta have that PayPal account.

Recently got 6 Shallow Shad Rap SSR-9 for a total of $34 with free shipping. Actual retail price for those would usually be more like $8.99 + tax. Another was 5 Flat Rap FLR-6 in productive colors for $17.50 with cheap shipping when actually retail price would be more like $6.99 or $7.99 + tax.
