Hi,

Some of you may have noticed the animated stamp when I sign off on a post.

Well, I have done a lot of in-depth geneology research, the past 15 months, on my family history since I am 100% Polish.
I was surprised and delighted to find that both sides of my family are decendents from the famous "Polish Winged Hussars or Husaria for short".

Well the following, some may find interesting because it is recorded historic FACT Exclamation

The "Polish Winged Hussars" were the most Beautiful, Heavily Armored, and Undefeated cavalry in all of recorded civilized human history!

The following videos do a better job then I can:

www.youtube.com/watch?v=NEqo9Rip_ZE

www.youtube.com/watch?v=RaGZ1tdAVdo&feature=related

Now this next article, is a bit tounge in cheek, but gives an overall explanation about the "Winged Hussars"

www.badassoftheweek.com/hussars.html

Now to all my fellow sportsmen here on CTFT, "who have so much as a drop of Polish blood in them" this is part of your glorious history, it is your legacy, it is what's in you -> Character, Integrity, Honor, The will to stand and fight for your Beliefs!

The Motto of the "Winged Hussars"

" "NEVER GIVE IN ... NEVER BACK DOWN"

I never knew this until recently, but I have live by this motto all my life without ever realizing it.

Guess you all now know why I'm ME! ....It's in the Blood Exclamation

Best regards,

My dad's side has a Polish-Slovak mix.

I love it when it's time for dinner at my dad's parents' place on Christmas and Easter.

That delicious pure Polish kielbasa from an import store to go with the ham, deviled eggs, and potato salad.

The traditional Slovak mushroom soup is my favorite food for Christmas. That delicious broth with the flavor from the sauerkraut juice.

Years ago Bridgeport's East Side, Mill Hill, and Beardsley Loop was filled with the Polish and Slovaks. The Beardsley Loop by Beardsley Park is where my grandparents grew up. Polish and Slovaks went to Harding High while the Italians went to Bassick and Central.

I am Polish as well, and was born in New Britain.

I remember watching the construction of my FAVORITE MEAT MARKET, none other than Nozewski's!!!

Boy is that place fantastic, I gain weight just by walking in there.

Hi Guys,

Yes! I agree the food is great!

BUT, learning the history of your Polish heritage , no matter what % it is, is much more interesting and something to be very proud of Exclamation

Columbus would have never made the trip if not for Copernicus, the Pole who proved to all that the world was round.

General Casimir Pulaski -> American Hero that helped win the American Revolution ->Founding Father of the US Cavalry.

General Thaddeus Kosciuszko -> American Hero that helped win the American Revolution as an Army Engineer

Madam Curie who discovered radium, which helped lead to the development of the X-ray machines.

The Polish fighter pilots (Who the germans where absolutely deathly afraid of during the Battle of Britian) and killed more germans then any other fighter pilots.
Or the Polish infantry that took from the germans the stratigic high ground of Monte Casino when no other allied forces could.

Or my Uncle Joe (my dad's brother), who died recently June 14th, at the age of 90 (A remarkable man much loved by many) ...... and was the chief test flight engineer for the following aircraft:

Famous P-47 Thunderbolt fighter of WWII
A-10 Warthog ... (that's a BAD piece of hardware that saved many lives, ask any Soldier or Marine)
Boeing 737 - 747 - and 757
It was his "final test flight signiture" that put all these aircraft into production.

So if any of you ever get to fly in a 737 - 747 - 757 ......you are flying in one due to a menber of my family, ....a decendent of the "Winged Hussars"!

Best regards,

Two of the offices i work in are in New Britain. I never had any idea how dominant polish is in the area. I've picked up a few words to say the least!

Na zdrowie! My grandfather was born in Poland and moved here when Germany came in during WWII. Grandmother is also 100%, but born here. Still, can't beat Polish holiday dinners. Homemade pierogis baby.
