Four trips, lots of nice bass with a couple of memorable ones. I figured tonight was my swan song for a while. Time to move along to the next spot. 5-9:30 on the water. Jig and texas senko at the fall basin for the first time in deepest water here, about 15 feet. Lots of 1 pounders. I bailed out after an hour to top water the rest of the area. I could fish frogs, buzz baits and jitterbugs all day long. I like the visual. And the slam is the best.
That's when it lit up. Good night all in all. Best was a 4.2 pounder that slammed a frog. I tried a double hook for my frog tonight, but it's too much of a cramp to keep positioned. I'm going back to single 5/0 wide gaps with screw.
This shot is a pound and a halfer, but it's a good one of the frog and the shiny double hook in the flash. It was really dark by this point.

Nice, Dave. I might have to start targeting largemouth bass, again. That looks like fun. _________________ Don't forget to wear sunscreen and don't litter! |

Nice! Yeah I stopped using the double hooks on the frog too. They seem to never work as planned. I use the 4/0 wide gap with screw. I need to do more evening fishing! Looks like a nice couple outings! _________________ Steve |

Thanks guys. Evening fishing is my favorite Steve...I'm not a morning person!! Hila, Mill Pond/Falls River is a small paddle only spot in Essex that doesnt get much pressure and has a lot of really nice bass. Ive had great fun there these past few trips. _________________ Dave..... I can be a pain in the bass. |

Cool, looks like a good yak spot. I'll have to check out the map to see if it's worth loading up the truck with the yaks. |
