Fished Maltby 2 and 3 today. Pulled some dinks outa Res 3 but got 5 in Res 2 this size. Yamamoto Watermelon w/black flake Whacky Rigged did it again. I tried other colors with no luck. All were caught casting parallel to shore about 10 feet out.

Not bad for such a shitty day. At least this weekend should be good weather.

I had a HORRIBLE day at Saltonstall. Should have went to Maltby for once!

I've actually seen some decent bass come out of there recently. Nothing huge but better than I had seen in previous seasons.

I know exactly where you are, I usually take a few casts under that bridge.

Nice job!

While I was up there I saw schools of bait fish pooling near the surface to far out to cast. Feeding on bugs hatching. That I didn't see at all last year. Hopefully Maltby is on the rebound. I was surprised to see a size limit poster for pickerel. They were over abundant last year with a few I caught over 18"s.

Hi Gang,

The homemade bridge on Maltby is now home to a large water snake. Probably non venomous but he stands his ground, so take care when trekking around the fallen logs...

BTW, any Carp in Maltby? Maybe it was a catfish we saw... But I was curious if carp were in there also...

Nice job on a lousy day. Good sizes compared to recent years.
