Sea Hunt Al and I started at 6a.m. at Watch Hill and the snotty East wind made us head East to Niantic, Fishers Island blocked some of that horrid East blow. Fished for some porgy to use for bait, couldn't find them anywhere. Trolled and cast for 6 hours and managed to get a 30" and a 36" Striper casting a swim bait and squid lures. The 36" fish had a 10" fresh squid in it's belly.
Sorry about the no pics, too damn windy, foggy and rainy.
"East Blow Don't Go" I always try to prove this wrong but never can.
Have a great weekend all.

Wind must have really picked up. I fished Friday night and Sat. morning out of Niantic in my small boat. Posted the report at http://www.ctfishtalk.com/small-boat-yak-fishing-in-the-niantic-area-t9441.html. I was off the water early due to the fog and the fear of pleasure cruising idiots later in the morning. Good news is that the fish are coming in and I'll be able to fish around Two Tree and the backside of Bartlett's. _________________ RNA - It's in my blood.

Made it back out Saturday afternoon to the Watch Hill reefs for a couple of hours on the ebb tide. Managed to hook up half a dozen 30"+ stripers on a pink Squid-Zee Lure and also on 9" Slugo and Long Cast plastics both in amber, still seeing squid but it's starting to thin out. Tried to get some porgy with no luck also no bunker around. Found some bluefish off Misquamicut beach at dusk.

Been fishing with Jack for a number of years now. I've had lots of great days and taken several friends out as well. Fished with Steve Burnett last year when my brother came up and Jack was booked, but kinda felt like I was cheating on my wife! I was checking out 247's website. I saw some guys throwing what I'm pretty sure was the amber Squid-Zee while out on Sugar with Jack last week. There was a steady breeze, and they were killing me and my 7" unweighted Hogy on casting distance and still getting a nice top retrieve. I'm going to have to get a few before the next squid run. _________________ RNA - It's in my blood.
