got out yesterday at about 4pm fished till 8pm - water temp 71 - water stained in some spots crystal clear in others! fished the big cove on the bend above the bridge - and the top water bite was on big time (scum frogs and jitterbugs) 3s and 4s - then headed towards the dam fished the left shore concentrated on ROCKY shore lines and walls going in (wacky-black) caught some very decent smallies when i got to ALL the little bends and coves where the driftwoods washed up and the brush was showing poppers got a 5.6 lg and and some more around 3 and 4! THEN LOST A BIB - BIG pike! (LOL) there was NO ONE on the water and the conditions just happened to be perfect! A GREAT EVENING! |
